The Narrative: A Tale of Endings and Death
The situation is dire. The fortress's defenses have been obliterated, the gates lie open, and defenders have fallen. This is the end, and death casts its shadow. After seven relentless years of civil war, the Warmaster stands on the cusp of triumph. Horus Lupercal, once the Emperor's beloved son, now seeks his father's destruction. The Emperor, revered by some as a beacon of hope and by others as a tyrant, faces his end. Countless lives have perished, and even the formidable primarchs have met their fate. Yet, amid the ruins of the Emperor's broken dream, a flicker of hope endures. In the final moments, the Emperor rises, accompanied by his Angel, his Praetorian, and his Captain, all intent on unleashing a terrible vengeance. However, hope is fleeting, for the Warmaster sees all, knows all, and Chaos's ultimate victory seems assured. Escape is impossible.
Penned by Dan Abnett, this volume is indispensable for aficionados of Warhammer 40,000 lore, delivering a captivating narrative that embodies the spirit of wargaming and the grand conflicts of the Warhammer universe.
