Description

Codenames, a game of atmosphere and espionage

In Codenames, players play as elite spies in two teams. At the head of each team, a spymaster leads the operations. The two master spies are the only ones who know all the identities of the other agents on assignment. These are known only by their code name.

The objective of the game is that each team must find their agents based on their code names.

Codenames, a set of deductions

Codenames is a game of ideas for 2 to 8 players (or more!). To find out what code name your informants are hiding, listen carefully to the clues given by the two master spies and be careful not to contact an enemy informant, or worse... The fearsome assassin! If one team stumbles unluckily into this vile character, the game stops and the other team wins the mission.

The two master spies know the identity of the 25 informants hidden in the crowd, but their agents only see the code names, symbolized in the game by words.

Teams compete with ingenuity to be the first to contact all their informants. To do this, the master spies give one and only one clue word that can designate several code names. Their agents try, therefore, to guess the code names of their color (blue or red) and to avoid those of the other team. And above all, everyone wants to avoid the murderer!

The first team that identifies all its Informants wins the game.

Codenames, a game with twists and turns

In Codenames, players will have to be on their guard every minute of the game. Missteps are common and every mistake can be fatal to teams. The interest of the game is based on the multiple meaning of the words. The spymasters will have to choose their clues and be careful not to take too many risks with the murderer;

And to further enhance the mission, participants will have to play under the pressure of an hourglass. To win, agents will have to think fast and well. Holy challenge!
