Rules and play - a strategy board game that's easy to learn

1. Randomly place all the fabric patches in a circle. Position the marker immediately after the smallest patch, clockwise.
2. Each player receives five buttons and places their time token at the start of the time track. Choose a first player.
3. On your turn, you may buy one of the three patches located after the marker. Pay its cost in buttons, move the marker to the chosen patch's position, place it on your 9x9 board (without overlap), then advance your time token a number of spaces equal to the patch's "time" value.
4. Turn order is determined by the time track: as long as your token is behind (or exactly on) your opponent's, you take another turn; otherwise, it's their turn.
5. Instead of buying, you may pass: move your time token to just in front of your opponent's token and gain 1 button for each space moved. When you pass a "button" space on the track, collect income equal to the number of buttons printed on the patches you have placed. Five small leather patches are also on the track: the first player to pass them takes them and places them immediately.
6. The first player to complete a 7x7 square on their board earns a +7-point bonus tile. When a player reaches the central space, they collect one final income; the game ends when both tokens reach it.

Scoring: 1 point per button you have remaining, then -2 points for each empty square left on your board. Negative scores are possible; the player with the highest total wins.
