Splendor, a resource acquisition game
In Splendor, you are the head of a guild of merchants. Your goal is to enrich yourself and become the most prestigious trader in the kingdom.
With gem tokens symbolizing gemstones, you will acquire developments that will generate new resources themselves. You will have to manage them as best you can to attract wealthy patrons, including the bloodthirsty Henry VIII. Obsidian, emeralds, rubies, diamonds, gold or sapphires, use your wealth wisely and enter the virtuous circle of prestige!Splendor, simple mechanics, fast parts
With Splendor, you won't get into endless games. Every lap is fast. Players have the right to perform a single action. The 4 possible actions are:
- take 2 identical gem tokens
- take 3 different gem-tokens
- spend resources on developing
- book a card to get it later
But this simplicity does not prevent this game from having a good dose of strategy. Observe your opponents, anticipate and reserve the right cards. The game ends when a player manages to get 15 prestige points by combining nobles and developments.
