Board Games: Create Haikus to Describe Prints
In this captivating board game, let yourself be surprised by the parade of 100 demons (Hyakki Yako) and try to get back to your pagoda before the dreaded Yokais catch up with you.
A strategic game of Haiku creation
To progress, players must guide their partners by creating haikus illustrating the place they wish to reach.
The haiku, a short Japanese poem of three lines, is used to express emotions, wonder and the passing of time.
During each phase of the game, 6 Japanese prints are placed in front of the participants. Each player secretly selects one of them and tries to get the others to guess it through a haiku of 3 verses chosen from the 16 available.
Players take it in turns to deliver their poetic creation, while the others exchange ideas to determine which print inspired the haiku.
If the answer is correct, they move closer to the pagoda. If not, the Yokais move on.
To triumph, the pagoda must be reached safely before the demons.

- 1 Kokeshi pawn (emblematic doll)
- 5 individual Torii trays
- 5 sets of 6 print tokens
