Buttons & Beasties is set after the events of Gloomhaven and its expansion Forgotten Circles. Hail, the reclusive Aesther now famous for having saved the city, poorly tolerates the constant visits: would-be heroes seeking glory and demons craving revenge constantly disrupt her research at the Twisted Bone. To regain her peace, she casts a spell on her door: anyone who opens it is instantly miniaturized… and ceases to be a problem.

You play one of those overly daring adventurers. Trying to meet Hail, you find yourself reduced to the size of a mouse, thrust into an anarchic world where only survival matters. Your goal: infiltrate the Twisted Bone again and convince Hail to restore you to your original size.

A fast, portable, and clever strategy board game

Ideal for solo board game fans and lovers of tabletop strategy, each scenario fits on a single card and pits a mercenary against a few enemies with simplified actions and AI. Each mercenary has only four double-sided cards, but each can be played twice (front then back) before being discarded, offering tense tactical choices every turn.

Attacks are resolved with a die and a modifier table for a smooth pace. Over the course of the campaign, your character board and ability cards evolve: you gain power, optimize synergies and tackle growing challenges, all in a compact format designed to be taken anywhere.
