Discovery, The Age of Discovery.

With the progress of shipbuilding and navigation, countless courageous explorers ventured out to sea to discover unknown lands and islands. The fleets of several countries sail the oceans. The opening of new sea routes accelerates cultural and commercial exchanges and heralds a new era. In Discovery: The Age of Discovery, players play as ambitious captains who lead their fleets to glory. By exchanging commodities and commodities, investing and developing your activities, you will build reputation and influence in the islands.

Discovery, The Age of Discovery. The rules of the game.

In Discovery, players MUST move their ship between the different island cards surrounding a central island. The move follows some very simple rules (clockwise or counter-clockwise only, the stop on an Island depends on the presence of other players, etc.). The number of trips is also limited by the amount of money the player chooses to spend.

When the Ship stops on an Island, the player MAY choose to Invest in it or retrieve Resources there; this costs Resources and/or money. If the player has already invested on an Island in the previous game turns, he MAY collect the most important Resources there. Each player has only 8 Investment Tokens reflecting their influence.

Each Island has its own set of Resources. The number of Investments per Island is limited, so players are struggling to know who will have the greatest influence on each Island.

When a player places his last Investment Token, the turn ends and the game ends. Players then receive Victory Points based on the Islands where they have the most Investments. These VPs are in addition to those that may be won during the game. At the end of this count, the player with the most VPs wins.

Discovery is therefore a game where you have to combine reflection and speed, the first one having placed all his investment tokens closes the game and triggers the final countdown, be careful not to be surprised by an opponent who would invest at all costs and be careful if you invest at all costs to check the profitability of your investments !
