Dominion - Guilds

Work, everyone worries about work. What happened to plowing fields in the dark? Economics is just a ruse, like stealing someone's nose, but lately people seem to have seen through it, like when you realize someone hasn't really stolen your nose. Now everyone joins a guild, learns a trade and works on a masterpiece - a painting so beautiful that it blinds you, or a cheese grater so amazing that you'll never eat cheese again. The only people who work in the fields are those who do it ironically. Guilds cover everything - ironic plowing, butchery, baking, making candles, making shoes, making cheese, destroying cheese. Your advisor is convinced that controlling stonemasons is the key to world domination. Very well. You will have a stone manipulated so expertly that the world will tremble before you.

In Dominion, each player starts with a small package of identical cards. In the center of the table is a selection of other cards that players can "buy" as they can afford it. Through their selection of cards to buy, and the way they play their hands, players build their decks on the fly, striving to find the most effective path to the precious victory points at the end of the game.

This is the ninth title in the Dominion series. Dominion - Guilds adds 13 new Kingdom maps. It introduces coins in the form of tokens that you can now keep from one turn to the next, and cards that can bring you more if you decide to pay them more.

Extension for Dominion and Dominion intrigues. Requires one of the two to be used.
