Description
"Jinx" is a "Dixit"-like. We play with images that will evoke things and we will have to find the evocative image, lost among others.
One of the great features of "Jinx" (the one that must have seduced Dominique Ehrhard) is that the drawings are not realistic illustrations describing scenes but images halfway between abstractions and figurations.
Another difference with "Dixit" is that here the speed of reaction comes into play.
During the game 9 cards are displayed in a 3x3 square.
The active player draws a location card that will show him the drawing card with which he will play.
This location is obviously kept secret.
The player must now say, sing, mimic something that makes this card think exactly as in "Dixit".
As soon as he has spoken the other players try to discover the reference card by pointing it at it.
But be careful! Only one player can point a given card. So you have to move fast if you think you've found it.
In fact, it's even better for the active player that the first players get it wrong.
As soon as a player points to the right image, the turn stops (even if some have not chosen).
The player who finds the right card keeps it for himself (each card gives 1 victory point).
Players who have made a mistake give their cards to the active player.
But if none of the players find the right card, the active player must return one of the cards won previously.
As in Dixit, the active player must therefore find an expression that is neither too obvious nor too complex to score points.
