Codenames - Duo

Codenames Duo - A two-player cooperative board game for tense and immersive sessions

With Codenames Duo, rediscover the universe of Codenames in cooperative form. Together, you must identify the 15 Code Names before the time runs out, while avoiding the Assassin. This friendly and clever board game is played by 2 players (or more in teams) and offers an ideal experience for fans of ambience games and strategy board games at home. Alternate between giving precise clues and guessing several Code Names at once, never crossing one of the dreaded assassins that end the game immediately.

Accessible and tactical, Codenames Duo establishes itself as an excellent two-player board game for couples, friends, or in family board games. Its deduction mechanics require fine communication, inspired associations of ideas, and real teamwork to clinch victory before the ninth round.

Game flow: cooperate, deduce, avoid the assassins

At the center of the table, a double-sided key card secretly indicates the targets for each player. Each sees 9 Code Names to be guessed by their partner, of which 3 are common to both sides. Three assassins are in play, and one of them is common to both sides of the card: you must avoid it at all costs.

The game turn is simple and tense: in turn, give a one-word clue accompanied by a number to steer your partner toward several cards at once. Your teammate then proceeds to try to reveal the correct agents. Cooperation is essential, because you only know part of the overall solution. You win if you identify all 15 agents together before the end of the 9 rounds. You instantly lose if you land on an Assassin.
