Description
Peace remains a fragile affair.
As poverty spreads, many have lost confidence in their ability to lead and are seeking to gain independence from the Crown. Since he has found favour in his courts, our future has also become uncertain. As Viscounts we must be cautious and determined. Loyalty must be maintained but winning the people's favour must be our priority in the event of a sudden change of power.
The goal of the Viscounts of the Western Kingdom is to have the most victory points at the end of the game. Points are earned by building buildings, writing manuscripts, working in the castle and acquiring titles to new lands. Players start with a handful of villagers, but must quickly seek out more suitable talents to advance their business.
With each round, they roam the kingdom, seeking to increase their influence in different areas of the company. The game ends when the kingdom reaches poverty or prosperity - or potentially both!
