The legend of the Golem is one of the most fascinating stories in the world and has its roots in Jewish tradition. In Golem, this story inspires a strategic and complex game in which players take on the role of scholars engaged in recreating the famous clay automata. Use your knowledge (represented by the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet 'Aleph') to study ancient books, collect pieces of gold and melt them down to create powerful artefacts, bring tireless golems to life and send them to the city to carry out important work.

You will need to maintain control of your golems through your students and by spending knowledge to keep them from going mad; however, you can also choose to kill them to avoid paying too much for their upkeep. The three-dimensional structure of the Synagogue creates a dynamic randomisation of available actions, golem management is an intriguing innovation of worker placement, and the player board can be developed in numerous ways to offer a wide variety of possible strategies.
