À la Gloire d'Odin

In the Glory of Odin trade, hunt, raid, pillage, plunder and plunder some more!

Build houses, explore new lands and, above all, prepare a feast for the glory of Odin. In this magnificent strategy game, Uwe Rosenberg invites you to relive the past era. Each game creates a new world on your player board. A wide variety of actions and professions will grant your Vikings the favour of the gods!

"In Odin's Glory" tells an epic saga with every game you play. You relive the cultural achievements, trading expeditions and plundering of those we now call "Vikings", a term that had a completely different meaning at the end of the first millennium.

When these northerners set out on a raid, they used to say that they were going on a 'Viking' expedition. Their Scandinavian ancestors, however, were more than pirates: they were also a people of explorers and state founders. It is said that Leif Eriksson was the first European to set foot in America, long before Columbus.

In the region we now call Normandy, these intruders were not called Vikings but "Normans". One of them was the famous William the Conqueror, who invaded England in 1066. He succeeded where the king of Norway had failed a few years earlier: to conquer the English throne.

One of the reasons why these people became exceptional sailors was because of their difficult agricultural situation: poor harvests were the cause of great distress.

In this game, you can explore new territories, or ravage them. You will also simulate everyday life, harvesting resources to achieve a stable financial position in society.

At the end of the game, the player with the most valuable possessions wins.
