Hegemony: The nation is in disarray.

The nation is in disarray, and class warfare is raging. The working class is faced with a dismantled welfare system, capitalists are losing their hard-earned profits, the middle class is gradually fading away and the state is sinking into a major deficit. In the midst of this chaos, the only person capable of giving direction is... you. Will you take the side of the working class and fight for social reforms? Or will you side with business and the free market? Will you help the government maintain order, or will you try to impose your agenda, whatever the cost to the country?

Hegemony is an asymmetrical political-economic board game for 2 to 4 players that puts you in the shoes of one of the socio-economic groups of a fictitious state: the working class, the middle class, the capitalist class and the state itself.

Hegemony: Would you choose the working class, the middle class, the capitalist class or the state itself?

The working class controls the workers. The capitalist class controls corporations. The middle class combines elements of the working class and the capitalist class. It has workers who can work in the capitalists' companies, but it can also set up its own, smaller businesses. Finally, the state strives to keep everyone happy, providing benefits and subsidies where necessary, but also trying to maintain a stable income through taxes to avoid going into debt.

Although players have their own objectives, they are all limited by a series of policies that affect most of their actions, such as taxation, the labor market, foreign trade and so on. It's also very important to vote on these policies and use your influence to change them. Through careful planning, strategic actions and political maneuvering, you'll do your best to increase the power of your class and implement your program. Will you be the one to lead your class to victory?

Hegemony draws heavily on academic principles such as social democracy, neoliberalism, nationalism and globalism, and allows players to see their real-world applications through engaging gameplay. There are many ways to achieve hegemony - which one will you choose?
