In the captivating Filets au Fish, your aim is to maximize your points by catching the greatest number of tricks over eight rounds. Each card you collect earns you a point, adding a strategic element to this popular board game.
The cards you win become your tools for the next round. If your hand isn't complete, you draw new cards from the ocean pile, introducing unpredictable elements for which fishermen must compete. This strategy board game will keep you on the edge of your seat at all times.
At the start of each round, you are dealt 8 to 13 cards, depending on the number of players and the round. The initial cards range from 1 to 10 in four suits, and you must follow the suit led. The highest card of that suit wins the trick, a classic strategy board game.
Additional, more powerful cards appear from the ocean pile: a green trump card ranging from 1 to 16, 0 cards that recover a card from the trick, and special buoy cards that can be played at any time, regardless of your hand.
Buoys offer multiple strategies: steal the advantage, change the color of the next trick, force card exchanges or even steal all the cards in a trick to optimize your hand with big fish for the next turn.
At the end of each round, you score one point for each card caught. The player with the most points after eight rounds is declared the winner. Dive into this strategic board game and deploy your fishing skills to triumph!
