CATAN - Barbarians & Merchants: strategy board game extension

Enhance your gaming experience with Barbarians & Merchants, an expansion for the famous CATAN board game, the benchmark for strategy board games. Designed for board game enthusiasts, this extension introduces new modular challenges to renew your games with family and friends. Whether you're a fan of adult board games or more accessible family board game sessions, these modules offer extra tactical depth without weighing down the rules.

5 original scenarios and 4 variants for ever-changing games

Play each module individually, or combine them to form a coherent, immersive campaign. The 5 scenarios take you on a progressive adventure on the game board:

• Exploit a lake full of fish to optimize your resources.
• Search for gold along a river to rebalance your economy.
• Set up your caravan near an oasis and secure new trade routes.
• Repel a horde of barbarians and protect your colonies.
• Rebuild the island castle to conclude the epic.

Four rule variants enrich your board games and offer new ways to play:

• Le Voleur au Grand Coeur: the thief only targets players who have reached a certain number of victory points, for more balanced games.
• Les Péripéties de CATAN: replace dice with Péripéties cards to modulate chance and refine your strategy.
• CATAN Ports: engage in a tactical race to the ports with an exclusive bonus tile.
• CATAN 2: discover tense duels perfectly calibrated for two players.

This expansion is aimed at board game and strategy enthusiasts looking for variety and replayability. Ideal for board game evenings with family or friends, it's easy to fit into your regular routine, whether you're new to CATAN or a fan of the best board games in your favorite board game store .
