Twisted Cryptids

Twisted Cryptids: a bluffing and strategic board game

Assert your urban legend in Twisted Cryptids, a board game combining bluffing, placement and influence. Nowadays, attracting the attention of humans is no easy task for a cryptid: your ambivalent relationship with hikers, hunters and researchers is at the heart of the game. To feed your myth, you scatter subtle red herrings, deploy flawless decoys and lurk in the shadows at the right moment. Sometimes you'll have to dare to show yourself… accepting that exposure makes you vulnerable. This strategic tabletop game will appeal as much to fans of party-style social games as to enthusiasts of nuanced mechanics.

Play as legendary creatures with unique powers

Each player takes on the persona of an iconic cryptid — Mothman, Bigfoot, the Loveland Frog or the Jackalope — and enjoys asymmetric abilities and Observation cards unique to their creature. The objective is clear: stay out of humans' reach, steer their movements on the game board, and precisely choose the moment to reveal your true nature in order to grow your renown. This constant tension between discretion and risk-taking creates a thrilling pace, ideal for family board game sessions as well as for adult board game enthusiasts.

Bluff, placement and timing: mechanics that make the difference

Your Cryptid card grants you an exclusive Power that you can use during the Day Phase. Once per round, discard a card wisely to activate it during your turn and turn the situation to your advantage. Between terrain manipulation, hand management and reading opponents' intentions, Twisted Cryptids offers an effective blend of placement and bluffing that will please fans of strategy and tabletop board games. Knowing how to influence the board while obscuring the trails is the key to imposing your legend.
