The Horus Heresy : The Scouring - Les Cendres de L'Imperium - Livre 1

Warhammer 40,000 Novel - The Horus Heresy: The Scouring - The Ashes of the Imperium (Book 1)

Book 1 in the The Scouring series - The new post-Horus Heresy cycle opens on a broken Imperium, where the survivors of the Siege of Terra must reinvent galactic governance and face a thirst for vengeance. This first volume establishes an era of violent reconstruction, power struggles, and existential doubts at the heart of the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

After the Siege of Terra: an Imperium to Rebuild

Horus has perished and Terra is nothing but ashes and ruins. The Emperor remains silent, while, among the rubble of the Palace, gaunt survivors seek a glimmer of hope. New leaders, coming from the far reaches of the galaxy, present themselves as the saviors of the Imperium… but are already seen both as usurpers and redeemers. The great renegade armada has fractured: internal dissensions, corrosive doubts, and mute gods leave the traitors adrift, obsessed with the idea of escaping an inescapable vengeance.

In this chaos, some dream of a nascent peace and the long-awaited renewal. The most lucid know, however, that the war, reignited by The Scouring (The Purge), merely changes its face. At the dawn of this perilous new age, one question matters: who will rise to the pinnacle of power... and who will be swept away?
