Blue Glue for Model Plastics

The plastic glue specially designed for modeling, known as Cement Glue, is now available in a blue version. This glue retains all the effectiveness and strength of the original transparent version, with the added advantage of blue coloring so you can see precisely where the glue has been applied.

This blue model glue comes in liquid form and is applied directly to the surfaces to be assembled. Thanks to its blue coloring, it offers optimum visual contrast, making it easy to precisely identify areas already covered with glue before it dries. This feature is particularly useful given the rapid drying typical of these adhesives, as transparent versions sometimes make it difficult to visualize the precise application of the product.

Like the clear version, blue glue works by partially melting the surfaces to be joined, creating a chemical "weld" between them. This chemical process allows the parts to fuse together, ensuring a seamless finish and a stronger connection, comparable to metal welding. It is particularly suited to materials commonly used in model building, such as polystyrene, ABS, plastic card and HIPS.

The main advantages of blue plastic glue include greater ease and precision in application, thanks to the visibility of its color, while maintaining bond strength, rapid drying and compatibility with a variety of model-building materials. The result is a sharper, more professional finish, ensuring strong, durable assemblies.

As with the transparent version, it's essential to use this blue glue in a well-ventilated area to avoid harmful inhalation of the fumes released during drying.

To achieve good adhesion with blue glue for plastics, it's important to prepare surfaces carefully. This involves cleaning them to remove any dirt or grease, roughening them slightly with sandpaper to improve adhesion, and applying the product precisely with a fine brush or needle. Firmly pressing the parts together and holding them in place while drying ensures a bubble-free, high-strength bond. Any excess should be wiped off immediately to ensure a clean finish.
