Dunlendings Commanders - Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game miniatures

Enforce the laws of the hill tribes in the heart of Rohan with this kit dedicated to the Dunlendings, fierce leaders who lead their bands by their own code. Designed for the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game, these miniatures embody the brutality and cunning of warriors who earn their rank by force. Ideal for wargame and wargaming enthusiasts, this set also works as role-playing miniatures to enrich your scenarios.

Kit contents and assembly options - wargame, tabletop wargame

This plastic kit lets you assemble 3 Hill Tribesmen Commanders to lead your Usurpers of Edoras, Besiegers of the Hornburg and Army of the White Hand forces. It includes:

  • 1 Hill Tribes Chieftain, buildable with a large two-handed weapon or with a one-handed weapon and a shield.
  • 1 Hill Tribesman Warrior carrying a standard to rally your troops.
  • 1 Hill Tribesman Warrior equipped with a war horn to coordinate the melee.

The Chieftain can also be built as a Wild Man Oathmaker, offering an alternative miniature depending on your play style. This kit strengthens your tribal forces in a demanding tabletop wargame, with varied tactical options to control the battlefield.

  • 33 high‑precision plastic components
  • 3 Citadel 25 mm round bases
  • 1 clear assembly guide

Assembly and painting - Citadel paint, Warhammer paints

The miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly. For best results, we recommend:

  • Citadel tools: Precision Cutters
  • Plastic glue
  • Warhammer Colour paints and Citadel paints (primer, basecoats, shades and highlights)

You can also use Vallejo paints, The Army Painter and Green Stuff World for conversions and texturing, as well as Gamers Grass for realistic basing. The same techniques apply as with a Warhammer Age of Sigmar miniature or Warhammer The Old World, and these paints remain compatible with your other Warhammer 40,000 projects. A fine Citadel brush will help with tribal details and leather effects.

Rules and in-game use

The official rules to field these models are found in the publication Armies of The Lord of the Rings (sold separately). Add these leaders to your lists to strengthen the synergy of your Dunlendings bands and dominate your miniature wargame campaigns.
