City of Mist - la Boite à Outils de la MC

Discover the MC's Toolbox: Delve into the City's Mysteries

In this enigmatic metropolis, any individual can be a masked legend. Whether it's King Arthur, Alice in Wonderland, or Tlaloc, the Aztec god of rain, these mythical figures live through ordinary citizens, whether a simple street sweeper or powerful financial magnates. Torn between their legend and their daily life, these awakened souls possess, like anyone else, their challenges, their passions and their weaknesses. Their peculiarity lies in their extraordinary powers.

The City's Hidden Secrets: Truths and Legends

Although everything is real, no one remembers it. Millions of inhabitants, unaware, live here, convinced that this city is ordinary, while legends hide behind the Mist, using their fantastic talents to commit atrocious crimes and sow chaos. The truth is more veiled than ever... but some still seek to uncover it. Behind every seemingly trivial crime, behind every unsolved mystery, lies a story waiting to be revealed, begging to be heard. Those who dare to seek the truth do so at their own risk; even if they survive, they will never be the same again.

As the Master of Ceremonies (MC), you are the architect of your own City of Mist series. You craft the mysterious intrigues and terrifying crimes that your team will solve; you portray the enemies, creatures, and lost souls they will encounter; and you push the main characters to break free from their chains to discover their true identity.

This book contains everything you need to create and run your own City of Mist games: revelations about the occult forces that govern the city, the MC's rules, guides for telling stories in the spirit of crime novels, and for designing cases, dozens of locations, antagonists and ready-to-use criminal organizations, as well as a complete scenario titled Playing with Death.
