Terraforming Mars Amazonis & Vastitas

Explore the vanished sea of Vastitas Borealis or experience the vast plain of Amazonis, a larger map with longer global parameters to reach!

Each board represents a new region of Mars, with new placement bonuses, new ocean zones, new objectives and new rewards.

Amazonis Planitia

This map takes its name from the lava plains to the west of the imposing Olympus Mons. This area is highlighted by energy bonuses and is extremely flat and smooth compared to the mountains and craters that cover most of Mars. This larger map features longer global parameters for a better 4- or 5-player gaming experience. It also simply gives you more space to settle and terraform further. You'll also find a number of Joker Resource bonuses that allow you to obtain the standard resource of your choice. Delegate bonuses allow you to place delegates from the reserve for free (ignore them if you're not playing with the Turmoil expansion).

The Amazonis map does not include the Noctis region: Noctis Ville can therefore be placed without restriction. Its volcanic zones are shown in bold: Olympus Mons, Ascreaus Mons, Paronis Mons, Arsia Mons and Hecates Tholus.

Vastitas Borealis

Vastitas Borealis is a plain covering a large part of the northern hemisphere of Mars.

It used to be an ocean!

The map is centered on the North Pole, which consists mainly of water ice. It is covered by a layer of frozen carbon dioxide. This is released when you place a tile on it. This raises the temperature by 1, but costs €4 million. The first landing sites on Mars, Viking 1

and Viking 2, allow you to place a free delegate from the reserve (ignore them if you're not playing with the Turmoil expansion).

The Vastitas map does not include the Noctis region: Noctis Ville can therefore be placed without restriction.

Its volcanic zones are shown in bold: Alba Mons, Uranius Tholus. Hecates Tholus and Elysium - Mons.
