Description
A Eurogame designed by the creators of Santa Maria
The Magnificent is a Eurogame designed by the creators of Santa Maria in a mystical world sublimely illustrated by the French artist Martin Mottet. In this game, players compete to win the favor of the public and attract the largest number of spectators to their show. To do this, you need to:
- enlarge their CAMPS (to recruit artists)
- travel (for special effects)
- set up tents
- market their shows with posters
- set up shows (to earn points and coins)
How the game unfolded
The game is played on 3 rounds. In each round, players complete 4 rounds each. Players try to earn the most tickets (points) for their shows, which are mainly earned by setting up and marking their Master cards.
At the end of each round, all players win a new Master card and then choose one of their cards to score. Master cards represent decisions made by the Ringmaster (the player), who will therefore earn points. In the game, players roll dice to get enough power to execute the actions they want. But beware: The higher the total value of the dice of the same color you take, the more powerful the shares you get, but the more coins you have to pay at the end of the turn! When all players have completed four rounds, the round ends. Each player must discard one of his Ringmaster cards and score points according to his requirements. After three rounds, the game ends and the player with the most points wins.
Players' actions
In turn, the active player performs the following 3 steps:
- Choose a de: Choose a de in the main tent and place it on a free Master card in your playing space. In each round, you will eventually have 1 off on each of your 4 cards. In addition to the card you have chosen, there is a bonus that can be used once and at any time during your turn.
- Determine a power: Determine your current power, which is the value of the dice you took that turn added to all the dice of the same color you took previously during this turn
- Choose one of the following 3 actions: Build, Travel or Run.
The end of the game
At the end of the third round, the game ends. Players must then count their points by taking into account the master card score, coins and the number of areas occupied.
